Seventeen years ago, way back in 2009, a close friend asked me to make a video for another close friend. One video turned into two. Then came a major label record deal. And then two videos became five.
These aren’t my best work, but they’re where it all began. I’m still immensely proud of what we achieved, often on a shoestring budget.
Each video tried something different and required a “hustle mentality”, a mentality that’s never left me.
They allowed me to cut my teeth, make some mistakes, forge a bunch of lasting relationships, and learn.
I still love these videos. I’ll always love the music. And I’ll never stop loving “Russo.” Most directors hate their early work. I’m not like most directors.
Having them all here, seventeen years later, reminds me where it all began, and just how far I’ve come.
Enjoy.
Big up to the core crew behind the camera.
Joe Alexander, Meena Bhella, Crispin Deverill, Stefan Yap.
Ali Fletcher, Jamie Reddington, Nick Shymansky.
